Purpose: The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to standardize the expectations for each region participating in the inter-region play, particularly for the host region and the remaining participating regions.
Host Region: If all the games for inter-region play for a set of regions are played on the fields of one region than that one region would be the host region. Otherwise, the hosting region may depend on which region is providing the fields for each division. Example: Games for U10 and up except for U19 are played on fields in Region A and U19 games are played on fields in Region B. Then Region B is the host region for U19, and Region A is the host region for the other U10 and up regions.
Any region-specific policies & procedures must be approved by the Area Director, Section Director, and National. Region P&P for any divisions participating in Inter-Region play must have agreement from the other participating regions before they can be approved and implemented such as 3/4 rule play.
Coach, Parent, Player Code of Conduct for Regions participating in Inter-Region play are posted on the Area 9R website including Spectator Seating Requirements.
Coaches, Parents, and Players to be respectful of the Host Region enforcement of Policies and Procedures.
Division Coordinators: Participating regions need to provide a list of teams along with coach names and contact info for all teams participating in the inter-region play to the Host Region’s division coordinator.
Referees and Incentives: Participating regions need to provide a list of certified referees to the host region’s Referee Schedule or Referee Admin if there is not a role for scheduler.
Regions participating in Inter-Region play must agree on the Referee Incentives to be used for Inter-Region play of the participating regions.
